REUSEABLE project highlighted in the Danish national budget
We are pleased that our project, “REUSEABLE,” has been highlighted as a source of inspiration in the new national budget. This recognition shows that the collaborative effort in Aarhus to reduce the use of single-use packaging can help drive broader change.
As part of the budget, funds have now been allocated to establish a national partnership that will bring together municipalities, businesses, restaurants, and other stakeholders to develop and standardize solutions for reusable packaging. The goal is to create shared frameworks for deposit and return systems, making it easier and more accessible for everyone to choose reuse.
This acknowledgment highlights how our collective work in Aarhus can support the development of sustainable solutions that are practical and effective. Every day, an average of 2,500 REUSEABLE cups are used in Aarhus as an alternative to single-use packaging – a tangible effort that saves resources and reduces waste. This is an important milestone that we share with our many partners and the city’s residents and visitors who have embraced this solution. We hope that the experiences we’ve gained in Aarhus can contribute positively to the national partnership now being initiated. Together, we can find ways to make reuse a natural part of everyday life across the country.
